I am new to the Williamson County, Tennessee Mailing list and would like to know if anyone else on this list is researching the name George HARDING? George HARDING (born circa 1797 in VA) is an ancestor of my husband's. He appears in the 1850 Federal Census for Williamson County with his wife, Eliza Stewart, born circa 1806 in PA. Children listed include Mary J. (15); George A. (12); Sarah P. (10); John A. (8); Eliza A. (4) and Nicholas D. (1/12). George and Eliza were married in Williamson County on 16 April 1844 so I know that only the last two children are theirs. I found a reference to George HARDING's wife Sarah H. HARDING passing away on 7 November 1843 at 35 years of age. This was in the Western Weekly Review. A son, Henry Cliffe HARDING died 6 April 1845 and is shown as the infant son of George and Eliza HARDING. This was in the 18 April 1845 edition of the Western Weekly Review. According to the Williamson County, TN Record Book No I 1838-1855, Sarah HARDING did not leave a will and George HARDING was the administrator of her estate. Does anyone on this list have access to the Williamson County Census of 1840 and 1860 to look for the George HARDING family? I would sincerely appreciate your help! Colleen Taylor

Cindy, There is a web site on this Mayberry family. It is maintained by Tony Mayberry. I, too, am related to this family. Send me your E-mail address. [email protected]
I am interested in the family of Mary Anne Mayberry Springer whose mother was Margret Williams and father was Henry Mayberry. Mary Anne married Nathan Jasper Springer and lived in Hickman county. Any info? Cindy
Ed, Are you related to the Wisener's in TN? I have data and descendants of the Wisners who once lived in Maury County. Let me know your line. One of my ancestors married a Wisener. The descendants live in Oklahoma and Texas. Debbie
Ed, Vance- Thank you so much for the information on Robert and Jane Wisener. It has been just within the last month that I knew anything about my father's family. I was raised with a maternal orientation in California and I never asked my father anything about family. Ed, I notice you spell Wisener Wisner. So do I. In the early Green County, Missouri census the family was Wisener and then it changed to Wisner. I want to ask lots of questions and get all the info I can. Vance, are you the man who writes the books about Williams County? Do you have any that would help me with Wisners and Cochrans? What about the will book, marriage bonds,? Thanks again, Cassie
Cassie: In the first records recorded in Williamson Co., TN, the name was spelled Wisnor. I have seen it spelled Wisner and Wisener. I will try to answer any questions that I can. I would like to know when the family showed up in MO and any information you would or can share. Thanks. Ed
Hi- Robert Wisener married Jane Cochran on August 4, 1825 in Williams Co, TN. They were my ggggrandparents.Does anyone have info on either of these families. Bob was from North Carolina. Does anyone know where the family was from before that? Bob and Jane moved to Green County, Missouri. Thank you. Cassie Wisner Hill
Cassie: My Adams line connect to your Robert Wisner and Jane Cochran. Please see my web page below. I would greatly appreciate sharing information with you. Thanks. Ed http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~adams1895

I received this messaage from another individual that would like to contact one of our list members. If you are Flo or if you can help Pat out please contact her directly. Noel - ----------------------------------------------------------- Subject: E mail for one of your members Date: Sat, 21 Oct 2000 16:52:11 EDT From: [email protected] I have been searching the archives of all the TN mailing lists in hopes that I would pick up someone researching my Kelley line. I sent the following e-mail just now and it was returned as undeliverable. I picked up flows address off your list from Aug 1999. Do you have "Flo" on your members list and will you either forward the e-mail or let me know her correct address. I would like to talk to her. Thanks, Pat to: [email protected] Hi Flo-- I have been searching the TN mailing list archives county by county (I got your address off Williamson Co.) in hopes of picking up someone researching my line of Kelley's (or Kelly's depending on who wrote/transcribed the document). I read the answer you got--it didn't say what the query other then marriage book was. What caught my eye was this--John Nall married Rachel Campbell 14 Aug 1818. Bondman was Thomas Kelley. My 3 gr grandfather Noah KELLEY (1785-ca1861) "conveyed" some land in Dickson Co, TN to John NALL in 1813. I wondered if the John Nall was the same one and if the Thomas Kelley we any relation to my line. According to records I have, my Noah KELLEY was born in NC--another record sent me says DE. He married Hannah HICKS in Wilson Co. 8 July 1806. Their 6 children were born somewhere in TN between ca 1809 and 1823. James, Silas, Elizabeth, Isaac (my direct line), Martha, and Noah. I have found the family on IL Censuses--beginning with James and Silas in 1840. Noah and Hannah were living with son Isaac in 1860 and Hannah alone with dau. Martha in 1870-- Noah must have died between times. I know nothing yet as regards names for Noah's parents. If, and it is a big if, Noah and Hannah followed 19th Century naming practices (according to an e-mail I have) his parents were James and Martha. Hers were Silas and Elizabeth. I don't have a clue. Ring any bells with you? Pat (Patricia) in WA State -- [email protected]

To All: I need some help. I have noticed that a couple of people have inquired about Williamson Co marriages. Is there some reason couples in 1870-80s would go to Williamson Co to get married ?
