    2. Hi Donna: I have a Brown ancestor who married a Locke. Jesse D. Brown married Sarah Lock - When Sarah Locke died (they had several children) Jesse D. Brown married Mary Ann Bryant who was quite a bit younger than him. They had Rhoda L. Brown who married Asa Hodge Wilkes. They also had a son William Brown who married Asa's sister, Alice Wilkes. Would you have any information on the above Brown or Wilkes family. The Browns come from Boston, Williamson County, TN where Asa died and left Rhoda with about 10 children. Have hunted for Jesse D. Brown for a long time. I do believe Jesse D. and Mary Ann Bryant are on the 1850 census. Thanks, Gale

    3. Donna, I'm looking for death information on Benjamin Jordan Bass -- or any other Bass in the area. I think they were all related. Benjamin is on the 1830 Williamson County census, then he shows up in county court records through 1836. His widow, Frances, is in Arkansas for the 1850 census. Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks. 2. Donna, you are a jewel! No, I didn't have info on 1850 census of John Taylor. Actually I have seen no census info for Williamson Co. Will appreciate anything you run across on the Marlins, Taylors or Locks. I am curious to know if possibly Thomas Lock (who I have a hunch is Margaret's father) might have died in the cholera epidemic of 1854 that killed George Marlin and others in his family. I was privileged to attend a Taylor reunion at the Lynn Cemetery on Natchez Trace last year and see John's grave. No one knows where Letitia is buried or exactly when she died - somewhere between 1861 and 1865. I met several cousins of Taylors and 1 cousin descended from James M. as I am. Don't mean to bore you, but I am so excited to get these tidbits of clues from you. Judy

Taylor, and you may not so am sending it to you. Don't feel bad about asking me anything, I am more than happy to help a fellow researcher in need, and I know how it is not to have access to what is needed. 2. Thanks Donna, I think the Margarett Lock in Green Lock's household may be my greatgrandmother. She would have been 15 in 1850. Her father could have died and she may have been living with a brother as it appears several different ages in household. As for record on Jeff Marlin - he wasmy grandfather's brother who was blown away with his family in a cyclone. They are buried in the cemetery on the old Marlin homeplace at Boston which I think is owned by the Jackson family now. I have newspaper clippings of this and my mother remembers when this happened. This is a great help to me. I hate to ask for anything else, but I have 1 more mystery -- my greatgrandmother, Rebecca Roan (b. 6-7-1841) married to James M. Taylor (M. 11-28-1866) Don't know who her parents were. Are there any Roans listed on either census? Appreciate your help. Judy

    3. Hi...I saw your offer to help and wonder if you canhelp me with a stubborn ancestor....My Gr-grandfather was Charles Jones, b.1854..His parents were Lewis and Matilda Lock Jones...I have them in the 1850-60-7- census..I cannot find anyone who had the 1880 census to see if Charles Jones was still living at home at that time... Charles married sometime between 1874-84..On the 1900 census his wife'sname is Sussie..His oldest child is listed as Sussie, age 25..The next oldest child is age 15...I cannot find a marriage record for Charles and Sussie anywhere in Tennessee..Family lore says that Sussie's maiden name was Holt, but I find no one that fits that profile...I am beginning to think that maybe Sussie 3was a widow with a child, Sussie, when she married Charles... I know that Charles moved to Davidson county befor 1900....Do you think you ight have information to help me find Sussie's maiden name??? A marriage date for them??? Thank you... _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 2. John Dyer
    3. Donna: I would be very grateful for lookups on two families in the Williamson 1850 Census. My great grandparents were married in Williamson Co in 1879 and I am attempting to find their parents locations in 1850 and 1860. Helen Pate Ross was kind enough to find the Bird family which included Sarah in the 1860 census and I am hoping that John Fillmore Dyer's family as well as Sarah's family are both in the 1850 census. Neither John nor Sarah would have been born in 1850 but I am looking for parents. James L Bird and Sarah Bird are the parents of Sarah but I am just looking for possible names of parents of John Fillmore Dyer. John Fillmore Dyer was b May 18, 1855, location unknown, d 1909, Marston, MO, married Feb 13, 1879 in Williamson Co, TN to Sarah Frances Lula (Lulu) Byrd b 2/27/1860, location unknown, d 1937, Marston, MO. 2. Hi Judy.....there are 3 Lock listings in the 1850 Wmsn.Co.,TN census. one of them is in District 6, #844, Williamson Co.,TN poorhouse...Drucilla Lock, age 31, born in TN. Listed for the Isaac Twomey household, Isaac ran the county poorhouse at the time. The other 2 listings are both in the District 3 area, and are fairly close together. They are the reason I said the Lock's may have Grissom & Brown connections. They follow, and there are no more listings for Lock in the 1850 census. 1. Re: [TNWILLIA] 1850-1860 Williamson Co. census
    2. Donna, we may be on the right track. According to what little info I have, Margaret was born in 1835 in Williamson Co. She could be the 1 female age 0-5 on Thomas Lock's census. Was Thomas Lock not listed on the 1850 census? Thomas could have died between 1840 and 1850 leaving a widow with children. Are there any other Locke's listed in 1850, they could have been brothers. A neat mystery, huh? Thanks, Judy
