An 1878 copy of the Beers map of Williamson County was purchased. It is the small one advertised on the web. It is very good but does not show the very bottom of the map. Will have to send for another copy which will show the bottom part. However, where districts 12 and 22 come together, there is the showing of a "Baptist Rest __" and to the right of the church is "R. C. Rennolds" or "Reynolds"...the bottom of the "y" is cut off. This family is Runnels but is listed many times as Reynolds. This listed R. C. is Richard C., son of Spencer and brother of my R. Marion. Can anyone tell me about the church. Many of the generations of this family either preached or helped to start the Baptist churches in the places to which they moved. There must be a cemetery in that area but the map does not show. If anyone can tell me about this church, it would be appreciated. I will send more money to get another copy of the map which might show the bottom of this map to see if other families are listed whose names might be familiar. Shirlie Runnels Chaney.
Try the Izard Co. AR mail list -- there's lots of Melton researchers on it. I wonder if those of you looking for Capertons know if they are descended from Adam Caperton. I do not recognize any of the names that have been mentioned, however I am a descendant of George (son of Adam and Elizabeth Miller) who, with his brother John, left Kentucky around 1800 and settled near Cowan in Franklin Co., TN. George Married Eleanor Conn in MD and they migrated to Jackson County, AL. where they raised a large family. Margaret
Happy Holidays to Williamson County Researchers! May this season bring you a new cousin and news of that elusive ancestor! ****A small reminder**** Mail list volume tends to increase during the holidays. So, since that time is upon us, and many of us will be traveling, and not checking email regularly, I ask that you temporarily UNSUBSCRIBE if you are unable to read or download your email for any extended length of time (but please be sure and re-subscribe when you return). When you've reached your data quota with your individual ISP, your mail bounces to me. I've received many over the last few weeks, and since I, too, will be traveling during the holidays, it increases my mail twofold. To help all of us manage the mail volume during the holidays, mail addresses that bounces more than 2 times to the same address will be unsubscribed from the TNWILLIA mail list. To unsubscribe from the TNWILLIA mail list, send your unsubscribe request to the following addresses: for regular mail: [email protected] for digest mail: [email protected] And, for any other rootsweb.com mail list, just replace "tnwillia" with the name of that particular list. As I have had to pretty much take the last year off from the administrating duties of the mailing list and the upkeep/update of the Williamson County Web Site, major changes and redesign are in the works. The web site is in the process of getting a major face-lift with new format, categories and information. There will also be more of an opportunity for you to participate in sharing your information with others. Many of you have sent information to me over the past several months to be added, and I will be back in touch with you on these areas. If you have suggestions or questions about the web site let me know. We need to get the Williamson County site back to the level it was before I had to step away for awhile. Thanks for being patient and sticking around over the past year. It has been a bear but the light at the end of the tunnel is on and brightly shinning. And again, if you have any questions or comments, please write to me! Have a wonderfully happy and safe holiday! Hi Donna Sue..... I had emailed you a while ago but I hear you have had computer problems. Could you please check your early obits for a RUFUS RILEY WALL. May be listed as WALLS.
