Could someone tell me exactly what it means at the end of these entries where it says "bond" and then a name or none? Thanks! Deb G. [email protected] wrote: > > John A. Chrisman m. Talitha C. Arrington Creek crosses Hwy. 96 between Franklin and Triune near the town of Arrington but I do not know about the Commissioners Creek. I would assume the public road that was mentioned would be the present day Hwy. 96 since it goes directly from Franklin to Murfreesboro; however, that is just an assumption. May be someone else know if the present day Hwy. 96 was created that early.

I don't know if my guys, Reading (this is not Major Reading Blount) Blount, Benjamin and Isaac Blount are related to John Gray and Thomas Blount. I know John Gray and Thomas were big land owers and my guys were not. Benjamin Blount was in the Williamson Co tax records 1811 & 1813. Isaac was in tax records 1813 with 200 acres of land. Henry Reynolds, who was Reading Blount's father-in-law, was in the tax records 1813 1 w pole. On 2 Jan 1816 he was appointed overseer of public road from Franklin to Murfreesbors between Commissioners Creek & Arrington Creek. Does anyone know where this location is? Hello to ALL, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who has helped me in my research for my various family names. I appreciate all the information and kind help that was given to me thru this Mail List. It means a lot to know I'm not the only one who has BRICK WALLS or MISSING FAMILY MEMBERS. <grin> Lord knows I wouldn't have gotten this far in my research with out all the help from my new cousins in crime. <grin> The people who maintain these Mail Lists are ANGLES in their own rights. Without them this would not be possible. I Thank You All. Please have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. I pray that the New Year will bring us all closer to our goals. With friends like you all, life gets a little easier. A kind word, A smile on the net, A new lead to follow and a new branch to research helps. You all are very special people and I count myself lucky to have been able to meet you and correspond with all you at one time or another. I also ask those of you I may have offended unintentionally to please forgive me. I make mistakes but do not mean to offend. Sometimes I just don't think correctly. <grin>. Long hours on the net sometimes make the mind numb and words are printed without thinking. Thanks, Charla

On 4 May 1791, James Bradley, a Capt. in the Continental Line, sold 1280 acres of land to John Gray Blount and Thomas Blount. (Davidson Co., TN Deed Book E, Page 147) On 11 July 1793, John Gray Blount and Thomas Blount sold 280 acres of that land to George Marshall. (Davidson Co., TN Deed Book D, Page 46) On 5 June 1799, John Gray Blount and Thomas Blount sold the remaining 1000 acres to James Robertson. (Davidson Co., TN Deed Book E, Page 148) That property, today, would probably be near the Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford Co., lines and near the town of Nolensville, Williamson Co., TN. (part of Williamson Co. was Davidson Co. until 1799) I hope this information will be of some help: Ed Adams
Dearest Nan, You are so very welcome, and thank you for being so thoughtful. I live very rural with a wonderful hubby, 5 great grandkids, 11 yard cats, one ol' bear dog, and our best friend Jesus. Also living on our 5 acres are my husbands elderly parents, our 2 other daughters and 3 more grandchildren. We are so blessed to have so many loved ones so close. We live on top of a Tennessee hill and inhabitants of our yard include coon, possum, groundhog, squirrel, chipmunk, rabbit and deer. The scenery is awesome when it snows. I lived in West Covina and Glendora California for several years when I was younger, then later in Long Beach. There is no comparison in lifestyles, and I really appreciate these wonderful slow easy autumn years of my life. From all of us to you Nan, and to all the rest on 'our list', have a very Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year.....God bless you all. Donnasue
Donnasue, Thank you for sending all of the info on the Giles and Young obits. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you taking time during the holidays to do that. Nan Gaither, San Diego, CA

I am researching the name Blount. Reading Blount, Isaac Blount, Benjamin Blount was living in Williamson Co in 1815, according to their War of 1812 records. In 1820 Benjamin Blount was listed in the Giles Co TN census. Reading and Isaac Blount was in the Hardin Co TN 1820 census. They later went to Effingham ILL about 1835. Are there any records in Williamson Co from about 1800 to 1815 that I can research. Winnie Calloway [email protected]
Thank you. You filled in twoof my marriages. I haven't had time to check my Hargrove yet. Since you seem to know everything do you have a marriage for John Chrisman. He was 11 in 1850. My Dad was from Wmson Co and we seem to be related to lots and lots of them. I have already done a book on Smithson, Harrisons, Boyds so I don't need them. Thanks again That is a lot of work for you to do.
