    3. Am not sure that this made it to the list so will repost it just in case it didn't. Noel Subject: EWING Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2001 09:48:37 -0700 From: "James E. \(Jim\) Ewing" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> I learned in a round about way that you were looking for some information on William Ewing (1823). Here is a bit that could be helpful to you. This information came from William (Bill) Ewing, [email protected] who lives in Tulsa, OK. If you are needing information on the Ewing family, he can help you out. Please note that he is leaving for Europe for a couple of weeks. I live in Dallas, TX [email protected] but, I am not as knowledgeable about the Ewing family as is Cousin Bill. Kindest Regards, James E. (Jim) Ewing The grandfather of William Ewing (1823) was our grandfather so, there is a relationship although he was not a progenitor. William Ewing (1823) is our second cousin 3 times removed. William Ewing (1823) served both in the Mexican War and Confederate Army, in the latter in command of a company of cavaley at the time of his death. He was Representative of Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1861. We will be leaving Sunday for two weeks in Rome. Will ask the Pope to send you a blessing. Take care, Cousin Bill

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/) and by McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com/) as the most destructive ever! This virus was discovered Saturday afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine has yet been developed. This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored. This virus acts in the following manner: It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title "A Virtual Card for You". As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened, the computer freezes so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. according to news broadcast by CNN (http://www.cnn.com/). This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself. So don't open any mails with subject "A Virtual Card for You". As soon as you get the mail, delete it. Please pass on this mail to all your friends. Forward this to everyone in your address book. I would rather receive this 25 times than not at all. Also: Intel announced that a new and very destructive virus was discovered recently. If you receive an email called "An Internet Flower For You", do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all dynamic link libraries(.dll files) from your computer. Your computer will not be able to boot up. Damian Blair - CEO/President http://www.stepshowonline.com/ P.O. 2. Good evening, I'm new on this list. I am a descendant of the Ewings, McGavocks and Withers of this area. I have information on the Ewings and McGavocks. I have a mystery. My great great grand father William Ewing was killed in the Civil War. I only know that he served both in the Mexican War and Confederate Army, in the latter in command of a company of cavalry at the time of his death. I've always wanted to know where and how he was killed. He was married to Lida Withers at the time. She was born 4/27/1835 in Franklin, TN. and died in 11/21/1865 in Franklin. Her father was John W. Withers. I don't know how she died. My great grand father William Milton Ewing was born Dec. 9th 1862 in Franklin. I don't know who raised him. Can any one help me out with these ponderings. Maybe steer me to a web site or something? I'll be happy to share any info I have with relations to Ewings and McGavocks in the Franklin area. Thank you Billie Ewing [email protected]
