    2. Thank you, Noel, for this information. Surprisingly I discovered the Allen Co Library had a copy of a book that listed the early families of Williamson Co TN--The book was listed here before having to do with the People of the Flat....I forget now the exact title but I called Allen Co when I learned that they had a copy of this book and they sent me a request form. Not only would they make copies of the pages that I needed from this book but they also searched the records of passenger ships from Germany for one of my other family lines, all for a small price-- Most of their searches cost around $7.50 or so. Well worth the price since I did not have the time myself to search these records. I also found Allen Co Library to be convenient because I live in Indiana and it is a lot quicker to receive information from them than when I contacted and requested information from the Williamson Co Library, geneology department. Nothing against the Williamson Co library who were most helpful, but Allen Co was quicker, I am guessing because it is in my state. M Russell

Of course eveyone knows that they never traveled alone in the early days, more relatives and more neighbors came along in a group.....Jeanette (We also got Masons and and Moses families here in and around Iron Co., Mo.) -----Original Message----- From: Randall Jones [mailto:Randall_Jones@hilton.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 7:58 AM To: TNWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [TNWILLIA] Re: Where to research? 3. If any of you have a hard time reading the names on the maps let me know and I will see if I can make them easier to read or larger. Since they are all the same scale (or at least they are suppose to be so) you can copy them off and then put them together. You can use the 1836 map for the approximately locations. Remember that by 1878 some of the eastern districts had been transferred to Rutherford County. Again, here is the information on the Williamson County districts: Here is the main page for the 1878 District Boundary map. You can go from here to each district. http://www.tngenweb.org/williamson/history/1878map.html The maps are all about the same scale. Also, here again is the link to the 1836 District Boundary map. http://www.tngenweb.org/williamson/history/WmCoDst1836Map.html Here is the location for Rutherford County: http://www.tngenweb.org/rutherford/ Noel
