    1. [TNWHITE] Carmichael's in France Cem.
    2. Dale Welch
    3. Hello list, Sunday, I stopped at the France Cem. on the way back up Hwy 84 between Sparta and Monterey. I noticed 4 Charmichael men buried side by side and all were in the Confederate Army--and died there. They were one line up above were Champ Ferguson was buried. 1sg Sgt. Solomon Carmichael (b. Apr. 6, 1828 d. Nov. 20, 1861), I know, was in Abraham Ford's Co. K, 25th TN Inf. as was Pvt.Thomas Carmichael buried right beside him. Thomas was born Jan. 31, 1822 and died Dec. 31, 1861. Other's buried in the line were Pvt. Hance Carmichael (b. Oct. 23, 1823 d. June 25 1863) a member of Co. H, 28th TN Inf; and William L Carmichael, Co. H Dibrells 8th TN Cav. Does anyone know anything about these men? Were they brothers? Who were their parents? Take care, Dale Welch 303 Tayes Ave. Monterey, TN 38574 dawelch@usit.net
