I am new to the White County list, so the attached may be a little longer than most requests. I will try and make it short and understandable. For over forty-four years my family has been trying to identify the parents and siblings of our William Preston Anderson that first appeared when he married Rutha Moore in Bossier Parish, La in 1848. The greatest majority of his friends and neighbors came from White Co,TN, our WP also stated on the Census that he came from TN and was born 1824, so we assume came from White Co, also. We are now seeking any information on those around him hoping we can place his parents. His wife Rutha Moore b 1830 White Co,TN d 1888 Sabine Co, TX She was the daughter of Thomas Moore b in SC and Sarah Doyle also b in NC. I believe Sarah's family may have had something to do with Doyle TN. William Preston's brother-in-law was Elijah P Lewis Jr that married Malissa Moore daughter of Thomas Moore and Sarah Doyle. Elijah P Lewis Sr m a Judith Sherrill from SC. They had Mary Polly Malinda Lewis, Runna Lewis, John Lewis and Anna Lewis. Several people have suggested that Anna Lewis married an Anderson, and could be or William Preston's mother. After Elijah P Lewis Sr died, Judith Sherrill Lewis m a Robert G Anderson that was previously m to a Rebecca Fry. We have a great deal of information on Robert G's family but would love to communicate with anyone on any of these families. We have a lot to share.
