I greatly appreciate all the prayers offered up for me this week. The surgery went well. Dr. Davis at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro found FIVE ventral and umbilical hernias (and I thought there were only TWO of them! Sheeesh!!), and told me I was "in a real mess". This was a life-threatening situation, with part of the intestine having become enstrangulated. I'm extremely fortunate to have gotten the surgery done in the nick of time. Dr. Davis and his staff were just wonderful. I had the surgery Monday and stayed over that night and Tuesday night, and my brother-in-law brought me home yesterday morning. Had I allowed the other surgeon in Manchester (who shall remain nameless), I would probably be staying at the Manchester Funeral Home (formerly "DEADman" Funeral Home - no joke! The Deadman family runs it! Guess they got tired of the jokes and changed it to Manchester Funeral Home) about now and pushing up daisies in the Spring. Needless to say, I am quite SORE and feel much like 140 rather than 40 years of age! :-). God bless you all! Please pray that God will bless Dr. Davis and his staff in a special way this week!
