Are there any references to the BRYAN families in the New River area prior to 1800? A John Bryan in White County, TN has been found to have been connected to a George Rice who died in White County in 1806. This was a descendant of Morgan Bryan. Rumor has it that Daniel Boone was accompanied to Kentucky by a Joseph and Samuel RICE. Perhaps George was a son of one of these men. Samuel Rice appears in Green County, KY records near my JUDD family. Judds and Rices are closely associated in Putnam County, TN. Very interested in finding out if a George Rice was in the same vicinity as the Bryans prior to 1800 in either North Carolina or Kentucky. Thanks! Will Smith
