I would be very interested in knowing more about what you have on the Alexander Kerr land in White County. I believe this alexander died in 1815 of disease after the Battle of New Orleans. His wife was supposedly Leannah Jarvis. Can you tell me when Alexander Kerr bought the land, and what happened to it? the James Kerr you mentioned...is that the one who died about 1825 in White co? He could fit as an uncle of Alexander. I am very curious about James kerr. Is this William Kerr you mentioned the one who is enumerated in White County in 1850? I am very curious about him, too. Is he a son of James Kerr? Alexander Kerr had a son named William who would have been born ca 1809-1813. I can't find him...the one in the 1850 White county census is too old to be a son of Alexander Kerr. what gets my attention is that this 1850 William Kerr had a son named Absolom and a son named Alexander...William, Absolom and Alexander are all names used in the Surry county Kerrs. Alexander Kerr also had a brother John (my ancestor). John and Alexander served in the same W TN militia in the War of 1812. After the war, John moved across the state line into Monroe county, KY. I had always assumed, but had never found any record of, that John was in the northern Overton County area. I think now it was possible he was living further south in the White county area, since I found Alexander's family there. Is there any sign of any land transactions for a John Kerr?
