Williams 26 m TN Louisa J. 24 f TN James T. 4 m TN Willian D. 2 m TN ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1860 Fannin Co., Tx, census: #257 lst column--dwelling # visited (780) 2nd column--family # visited (791) : R. A. Caruth, 26, M Caruth, 19, Alonzo, 1 (same dwelling and family) MF Williams 37 m farmer Tenn L D 33 TN James T 14 TN Wm D 12 TN A. A. (?) 7 TX WYB 4 TX Mary E 1/2 TX ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have felt for some time that our Madison's family was that of James and Hannah below.......... these are from records of two different people and were recorded in a book written by the grandson of James Tate Williams (of the Cumberland Institute) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Francis Williams, 1751-1833 and his wife Rebecca Trager had four children: Mary, who married an O'Connor; James, b. 1785, who married Hannah Scoggins; and Sarah who married a Haynes, and Francis, Jr. James and Hannah had a son Jesse Scoggins Williams, b.1821, and six other children. Jesse Scoggins Williams m.Elizabeth Whiteside Tate in Hickory Valley. They had ten children---one was James Tate, b. 1847. He married twice, to a Wallace, and to a Shugart---had nine children, one J.V, the author of the book. Jesse Scoggins' siblings are listed as F.A., David, Ben, Matthias, Amarilla,Minerva. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I show Hannah as being born abt 1788 in PA, and dieing abt 1850 in White Co., TN. She m. James Williams Jan. 21, 1806 (the same date you have) He was b. abt 1785 at Harford Co., MO and died Mar. 1, 1876 in White Co., TN. His parents were Francis Williams and Rebecca Trager. Of their 8 children I only have info on one, Jesse S. The others are: Amarilla Williams m. an Arnold Minerva " m. an Arnold David " m. Sarah T. Matlock Matthias " m. Lula McGhee Benjamin " died 1935 Francis A. " m. Talitha Smith ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I honestly feel a HUGE MISTAKE has been made...... Matthias and Lula McGhee (above)are most likely our Madison and Louisa !!!! Is there someone out there that has access to records of White County that can help iron this out ???
