    3. Although Champ Ferguson was not a Monroe Countain, he was born in nearby Albany, KY., and is a son of the Cumberlands. He engaged in a bloody feud with Tinker Dave Beatty from Fentress Co. Tenn. Champ moved to White Co. (Sparta) Tenn. and continued his war with the Union.
