Does anyone on the list know where I can find a map of White County for 1860, 1870 and/or 1880 that shows the districts? I found one for Putnam County in the front of the 1870 Census Book of Putnam County. I would be happy to try to scan a copy of this for anyone who would like one that is also researching Putnam County for 1870. If anyone know where I can find one please email me at skrice@multipro.com. Thank you, Sheila Rice

Hello, I am seeking information about the children of Andrew LaFever (Layfevers, LeFever, etc...not sure of correct spelling) and Nancy Ard. Can anyone confirm the following for me?...especially any information on child listed as Isaac LaFever, supposedly born in White County, Tennessee. In my research I have found him listed as one of Andrew's and Nancy's children in several places. Others say 'boy or girl LaFever' and still others leave him out altogether. There is a chance that this Isaac LaFever may be my ggggrandfather. If so, he married Salley Flanigin in Lincoln County, North Carolina in 1828. I have almost complete information on his entire line after that and would be happy to share anything I have. Andrew LaFever and Nancy Ard...married 1795 children: Isaac LaFever b. ???? Sparta, White County, Tennessee William LaFever b. 1795 Wayne County, Kentuckey Zachariah LaFever b. 1797 Wayne County, KY John W. LaFever, Sr. b 1799 Wayne County, KY Eli LaFever b. 1803 Wayne County, KY America LaFever b. 1808 Wayne County, KY Katherine LaFever b. 1805 Wayne County, KY Andrew G. LaFevers, Jr. b 1814 Wayne County, KY James LaFever, Sr. b. 1816 Wayne County, KY Asher LaFever b. 1812 Wayne County, KY Could someone do a birth lookup for me on Isaac? Also I would like to confirm Andrew's line. Some accounts say that his 'Abraham' came from the Pennsylvania line but I have recently found information suggesting that Abraham was from the Manakintown, Virginia line. "There was an Isaac LeFevre who came to Manakintown, VA in 1699. From tax records it is gathered that he was born in France in 1667 and died in VA after 1724. His wife was named Magdelaine or Madelaine. The census of King William Parish in 1714 proves they had 1 son and 3 daughters: Abraham, Magdelaine, Elizabeth, and Judith. The name of Abraham's wife was Catherine. Abraham resided in Augusta and Washington Counties, VA. He appears on the Washington Co. Tax list as owning considerable land. On 14 Jul 1789 Abraham LeFevre gave Power of Attorney to Abraham LeFevre, Jr. , the former of Augusta Co., VA. Deed Bk 1, p. 235." Could someone help me with this also? ANY information on Isaac or others would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance! Pat LaFevers Holsten plholsten@aol.com 949-499-4188

In a book I have, it says that in the "History of White County," Asa Denson was listed as an early settler on Cherry Creek. Can anyone do a look up for me and see if anything else is available regarding Asa? (I have looked on your White Co. site at the book, but found no reference to him and assume (hope) that there might be more info. than what is on the site.) Asa was also listed as being in the Sparta Review, Vol.1, 16 Apr. 1823. Asa Denson was left a letter in the post office. I would really love to have a copy from the original sources for proof. Is there anyone who could do a look up and copy it for me? I would be very willing to pay. Are there any historians that can tell me more about Cherry Creek and the people who settled there? i.e. was there a group (religious or other) who settled in this particular area? where were they from? Where exactly is Cherry Creek? Asa Denson is listed in 1820 White Co. census 100100-201. In 1830-60 Jackson County, TN. Census records state he was born in NC or TN, 1790-1800 birth. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Carolyn Denson
You referred to the Wilhite Cemetery of Cherry Creek but Willie D. Cunningham does not live in the Cherry Creek Community... In the Cherry Creek Community there is a old home place of William H. Wilhite who married Sarah "Sally" Stone. Their house is still standing. On the joining farm (of Curtis Mackie's) was a cemetery but a road was cut through the grave yard sometime about 1960's. Mrs. Mackie said there were several tent type graves before the road was made. I spoke to Joe Edd Wilhite last year about the graves that do not have markers since the road and he had told me where William H. Wilhite was buried. Joe Edd Wilhite died before 3-99. However, only one grave is there now that has a marker. NO fence. It is the grave of William H. Wilhite, I discovered it this summer. The marker is a Civil War marker. A couple of William H. Wilhite's great grand children are interested in put up a fence to keep the cattle from ruining this grave. If you are interested in helping that project let me know and I will sent their email addresses to you. The Wilihite Cemetery that you are referring to is also known as the Reagan Cemetery in the Fountain Head Area on the Cunningham. I had never heard it called the Reagan Cemetery but was told it was Reagan before the Wilhite. The Reagan's may tie in I do not know. Anyone interested in the William H. Wilhite marker I have a photo and will be happy to email you a picture to your personal email address. I thought this information might be helpful. There is also a Wilhite Cemetery on Cherry Creek on the Charles Gillen farm. I grew up on this farm and remember the Wilhite tombstones. It was fenced different in the 1964 we moved from there. My grandfather, Comer Stone always keep the cemetery clean as he said these where his relates. If I can help in any way please let me know. Hillra

Died 13 Mar 1948 in Chattanooga TN. Marriages: 1) Sissy (Sissie?) Johnson, Cookston or ? (may have died during childbirth) 2) 17 Jul 1896 he married Mary Ellen Johnson in Dunlap Tn. Hi, I have this information about John England that I am posting to the list. There is another part so this is part 1. I did not do this research but had available to me and I would like to share it with the list. There are a few notes that I made on the material trying not to confuse the information. I had posted for information regarding the Rhea House and found out that Opie Reed stayed at the Rhea House and wrote two books while there "The Waters of the Caney Fork" and "The Jucklins." I am interested in what the first book was about since so many of my relatives grew up on the Caney Fork. Does anyone know anything about this book? Wonder if it had information regarding people who were living there at the time or if it was just a general book about the area. Robie in Michigan
