    1. [TNWHITE] CANEY FORKS FRANKS FAMILY
    2. Dick D Fox
    3. I sent a document by this title to the list a couple of weeks ago. If you subscribe to the L-list then you may have received it. However, if you subscribe to the D-list (Digest List) as I do then you did not receive it because it was too large for the D-list. If you would like to see the document, you can view it on my web page. http://members.tripod.com/~dickdfox/index-caneyfork.html Dick Fox THE CANEY FORK FRANKS FAMILY OF TENNESSEE A large colony of Franks settled near the Caney Fork River which is located near the county line between White and Warren Counties. Most of these Franks were born in North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia. One or two were born in Tennessee, probably in East Tennessee. They began arriving in the Caney Fork area in the early 1800’s and by the 1820’s, most were beginning to sell their land and move to Marion County, Alabama, where Chickasaw land was beginning to be settled by white settlers. A few years later, more Chickasaw land was opened up across the state line in Itawamba County, Mississippi and many of the Franks of Marion County moved to Itawamba County, often moving back and forth between the two neighboring counties. There are still several Franks families living in these two counties today. This is an attempt to compile the scant record that these men and women left as they moved with the frontier. It is a working document and includes both factual information (census, land, marriage and cemetery data) and speculation. If readers respond to this document with corrections, additions or new speculations, I will issue it periodically to the group. Dick Fox, dickdfox@lockhart.net. A link to this document is also posted on my web page but may not be up to date. http://members.tripod.com/~dickdfox/index-caneyfork.html I have included all Franks men who left a written record in White or Warren Counties, Tennessee or who were heads of household in the 1830, 1840 or 1850 Marion County Alabama or Itawamba County, Mississippi censuses. The Franks men are listed in alphabetical order. At the end, I have listed a few Franks women, but data on the women is very sparse. Use your browser to search for an individual. ========= To see the rest of the document, you will have to visit my web site: http://members.tripod.com/~dickdfox/index-caneyfork.html

    3. Hi All, You can order the White County Heritage book online at http://www.countyheritagebooks.com/ Under the "County Heritage Book - Pre-Sale", click on the "Add to Cart" link. It will take you to a form. (White County is not yet listed on the Completed Book list. I suspect that it will be soon). Under the "County Heritage Book -Pre-Sale" drop down form, select "TN/White." I thought that I saw a phone number in those pages somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now. Mitzi ----- Original Message ----- From: Sheila K. 3. To the person who asked if I had any info on the "Pauline LAFEVER" who was in James Alexander Rice's family in White County, TN, I think I have an answer. Clyde LeFevre contacted me with this information: "James LaFever, born 1816, married twice, the second being Mary Ann "Polly" BOYD, a.k.a. Pauline, January 28, 1857 in White County, TN by Levi Perkins, but I don't have a daughter Sarah. Sarah was a common LaFever name, of course. If I find anything, I'll let you know....approximate ages or birthdates???" >From Clyde Austin Lefevre: paclyde@webtv.net Thanks Hope this helps! Will Smith
