    1. [TNWHITE] White Co. - Capt Parker Company
    2. Carolyn Denson
    3. My Asa Denson (b. ca. 1795- d. aft. 1860) was was found on 1822 White Co., TN Taxable property and polls of Capt. Parkers Company. Would this mean Asa owned property in White Co.? or just been taxed for being of age? I have yet to find any info on property Asa may have had in White County. He later was granted land in Jackson Co. with Ben Rutledge in 1837. Asa was listed in Franklin Co. Indiana on 1817 Tax list owning a horse. Shows up in White Co. TN on 1820 Census. On 1822 tax list. On 1823 Tax record he is taxed for .90 cents. He is listed as an early settler on Cherry Creek in Goodspeeds History of White Co. Wouldn't an early settler have owned land? Can anyone give me some avenues for research? Should I check for military service (of which I have found nothing on his later census's). Can anyone do a look up in various early White Co. records books they may have? Can anyone help me with knowing why Asa may have been granted land in 1837 in Jackson Co.? Thank you, Carolyn Denson

    2. Willie Smith
    3. What was White County prior to 1806? Sumner County? I am interested in a transcript of the petition to establish White County. Does this document still exist? I am very interested in finding out where George Rice lived at the time of his death in 1806 - the year White County was established. Robert G. Anderson was his administrator. Turner Lane was also involved. Where did these two men live at that time? Anyone have these men's land records? Where are the tax records for White County from 1806 - 1814? 2. David Cummings
    3. I have a picture from the old W.S Lively Studios in McMinnville. I purchased it from an antique shop here in Ohio. On the bottom is a handwritten note "Mrs. D. S. England, Widow". ( probably David Scott England ) I had promised a copy to many people when I had it scanned. Soon after, I had a computer problem and lost most of the addresses of people who requested a copy. If anyone thinks Mrs England is in their family line and would like one just send me an e-mail and I'll e-mail you a copy. I'm not related to her but I was interested because of the Lively Studios and figured some of her descendants might like to see her photo. David

    3. I greatly appreciate all the prayers offered up for me this week. The surgery went well. Dr. Davis at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro found FIVE ventral and umbilical hernias (and I thought there were only TWO of them! Sheeesh!!), and told me I was "in a real mess". This was a life-threatening situation, with part of the intestine having become enstrangulated. I'm extremely fortunate to have gotten the surgery done in the nick of time. Dr. Davis and his staff were just wonderful. I had the surgery Monday and stayed over that night and Tuesday night, and my brother-in-law brought me home yesterday morning. Had I allowed the other surgeon in Manchester (who shall remain nameless), I would probably be staying at the Manchester Funeral Home (formerly "DEADman" Funeral Home - no joke! The Deadman family runs it! Guess they got tired of the jokes and changed it to Manchester Funeral Home) about now and pushing up daisies in the Spring. Needless to say, I am quite SORE and feel much like 140 rather than 40 years of age! :-). God bless you all! Please pray that God will bless Dr. Davis and his staff in a special way this week!
