    1. [TNWHITE] Eli Alexander Jaco
    2. Willie D. Smith
    3. Eli Alexander Jaco, the son of John Jaco and Sarah J. (Rice) Jaco, was born about 1839 in White County. He married first, Catherine Myers, daughter of William Myers and Nancy Mary (Welch) Myers, about 1868. He married a Trobaugh in Putnam County about 1879, and then went up to Kentucky where he married a third time. Eli returned to White County in 1904, and appears on the 1910 White County census. I've had a dreadful time attempting to compile a list of his children, and would greatly appreciate the help of anyone with info regarding Eli. I suspect he died in White County before 1920 or 1930. An "E. Jaco" is buried at the Rice cemetery next to Sarah Rice Jaco, my ggg grandmother. (Eli's half-brother, Marion Rice, was my gg -grandfather). I believe this "E. Jaco" to be Eli Alexander Jaco. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Will Smith

    1. [TNWHITE] Report of the Adjutant's General's Office - TN
    2. Mitzi Freeman
    3. Morning Everyone, At the "Tennessee and the Civil War" Project, we have a new project started. The "Report of the Adjutant General's Office - TN" military rosters are going online. The rosters currently online are the 1st Mounted Infantry, 4th Mounted Infantry, and the 8th Mounted Infantry. According to "TN in the Civil War," Company B of the 1st Mounted Infantry is from White County. This new section is linked from the main page under the What's New Section on http://www.tngenweb.org/civilwar/ I've included a small search engine to search the rosters for a veteran's name. You can search on both his first name and last name or just his last name. If found, it will list his name along with a link to the record, and it will return the name of the military in which he served. Happy Hunting, Mitzi

    1. [TNWHITE] Eastwood/Roberson
    2. I am searching for Annie Eastwood born ca. 1825 death date January 19, 1879. Family sage has her married to James F. Roberson or John Jackson Roberson, Sr., no date or place of birth nor death date or place for J. Roberson. The 2 where traveling from Tennessee (possibly White Co.) to ? when Annie gave birth to John Jackson Roberson on August 19, 1852 in Jacksonport Ark. on the White River in Jackson County, Ark. The father J. Roberson was to have died from the fever about the same time as the birth of his first and only known child, John Jackson Roberson (8/19/1853) Annie and the child can be traced by census from 1860 forward. However, the family Bible of the child, John Jackson Roberson, does show that Annie was married to Lovin(Leverin, Lewin) Green by 1855 (no place or death of marriage). Annie Eastwood Roberson Green and her husband L. Green have been traced until the point of burial in North Louisiana. The death certificate of John Jackson Roberson in 1934 shows his mothers place of birth as Little Rock,Pulaski County, Ark. I have located a trace of an Annie Eastwood of Little Rock in Pulaski County in 1845 when she married John J. Smith from Dallas County, Ark., no other recorded on this Annie Eastwood located to date. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Kathy Roberson Hart 1860 census for Ouachita Co. Behestian Twp. 3. Hello Everyone, I've been trying to resolve the problem with the list. It appears that somehow tnwhite-l-request@rootsweb.com has been subscribed twice to the list. It should not be subscribed at all. I've tried several times to remove it, but each time that I do, it sends me mail saying that it is not subscribed. Can someone send me a copy of the "weird" message you have been receiving? As the listowner, I get these all the time (I am supposed to). However, you are not supposed to be receiving them. I will then send a copy of what you are receiving to the folks at Rootsweb. It may help them identify the problem. I am also going to try one more time to delete the tnwhite-l-request@rootsweb.com from the list. Please let me know if you get another "weird" message. I think that my attempts to delete this email address is what is causing you to receive these messages. Mitzi
