ANDERSON was born 5 years before her parents married, she may be the daughter of Elizabeth SMALLMAN's first husband Isaac MEADORS and may have been adopted by her stepfather William ANDERSON. Does anyone have additional information on Thomas GREEN? All I know about him as that he performed many marriages in White Co., Tennessee, including the second marriage of my great great grandfather Caswell Cobb ROBERTS and Stacy SIMMONS on 10 December 1842. After each entry where he has performed a marriage is the notation "esq." (esquire). Pardon my ignorance but does anyone know just exactly what that would have signified? One of my acnestors was Mary Scott who married John England(5/6/1790-6/16/1839). Their son David Scott England and Nancy Golden were my ggggrandparents. They were from White County. I don't have any other information about the Scott family, but it looks like there could be a connection here..
