The Dresden Enterprise June 7, 1940 Death Ends Long Illness Thursday J. P. OLIVER, 75, died suddenly at his home near Como Thursday of last week. He was well known in this county, and a respected citizen. Funeral services were conducted Friday from West Union by Elds. Lawrence McCLAIN and Cayce PENTECOST, with burial in the church cemetery, with Bowlin & Riggs in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Luther, Lee and John Tatum OLIVER; Mesdames Alma SMITH, Mandy TAYLOR, Maggie BUNTIN and Hazel TRAVIS.
