Well , At the moment I am stumped on my Bell's from Weakley who went to Arkansas. So I have been poking around on my side of the tree. I have ordered Widows Application for Pension for my grandma Eran Harveston McLin. (Ms, and La areas) And received it today! Strangely enough it has two applications dated about 7 yrs apart, both applications have a different marriage date and death date for her and her husband , hmmm. Thinking maybe I should go with the first one because she may have had a touch of forgetfulness later on in years? I have also recently ordered the death certificates for both of my maternal grandparents ( NY ) Ok while we are on the subject here is a tale for you about my mom's side of the family. Mom was born in Brooklyn New York 1931 , along with her 2 brothers Charles Raymond White "Buddy" and Robert Francis White "Bobby" As a small child she was told her father died , so they were raised by her mother who was crippled with polio. Uncle Buddy was a problem child to say the least , in and out of reform schools and later prison. Bobby was always the "golden child" until one year he too got into trouble with the law , he was around 16 yrs old, Grandma gave him Uncle Buddy's birth certificate and told him to go enlist. Which he did, a few years later he disappeared never to be heard from by any family member again. In the meantime mom was writing Uncle Buddy who was in prison in Albany New York , for some strange reason she accidentally put the wrong city and addressed it instead to Beacon New York. Shortly after that she received a letter from none other than her FATHER ! You see, it seems as though grandpa didn't die after all he was in a mental hospital all that time! Mom went to New York ( she was living in Michigan at the time) to get him out, first stopping by her my grandma's , grandma talked her out of getting him out. Unfortunately Grandpa died a couple years later, he and his family still remain a mystery. Now remember me saying about Uncle Bobby who disappeared? Well , I was looking for my Uncle Buddy's obit online , (didn't find it ) Uncle Buddy was born Feb 22 1928 in Brooklyn New York full name Charles Raymond White He died Feb 08 2002 Brooklyn New York.. Now I found the following information on ANOTHER Charles R. White Charles R. White born Feb 22 1928 Brooklyn New York died Feb 22 2002 Texas Was in the service for quite awhile. I really want to know if this is my Uncle Bobby , but do not want to upset his family if it is. So your opinion , would you contact them or not?
