I already sent the gen report, and this is just an explanation you can add to my report file) CHARLES McLAIN Descendants of Charles McLain (my ggg grandfather, son of Charles McLAIN of Weakley Co TN) My ggg grandfather Charles b about 1808-1810 in either TN or IL and his father Charles b about 1785 NC were among those who signed the petition to form Weakley Co from part of Henry County Tennessee. Sometime before 1850, my ggg grandfather Charles and his wife Perlina A.(Anna?) UNKNOWN b about 1811 TN and 4 of their children (Christiana, David W., John Henry, and Squire McLAIN) went to Lawrence County Arkansas and they are in Strawberry township on the 1850 census. There were other children on the earlier census in Weakley County TN, but I have no information about them. This line, and PJ Thompson's line in Weakley County are related and descend from Charles of Weakley County TN. DNA testing on my cousin LeRoy McLAIN (a great great grandson of Charles who came to AR) has produced an exact match with a cousin on PJs line.
