I have this in the notes of Thomas Jefferson Brooks who had a son named James Percy Brooks. Since this Thomas was buried in the MT. Vernon Cemetery near Sharon this may be the one. In 1850, listed in his father's houshold in Weakley County, TN. In 1860 and 1880, listed in his widowed mother's household in Weakley County, TN. In 1900, listed as Thomas J. Brooks with wife, children, 2 sisters, and a brother in Weakley County, TN. In 1908, his sons Percy and Arthur ambushed and killed a man named Tade Innis, who had shot and injured Thomas' brother Polk Brooks 2 years earlier. Thomas is supposed to have used his influence to sneak his sons out of the country and they were never heard from again. In 1910, listed with 2 daughters and his brother Polk Brooks in Weakley County, TN. Buried at Mt . Vernon Cemetery, Weakley County, TN.
