She truly walked by faith and not by sight, proving to us all that she sought a city which hath foundations and whose builder and maker is God. She never complained in her sufferings and seemed to be perfectly reconciled to God's providential dealings with her, dying in a triumphant faith of God and the immortality of the soul. Notes for Annie Lou Adkins: Obituary Annie Lou Adkins was born in Palmersville, Tennessee on December 24, 1920 to James and Lillie Adkins. She married William James Graham on January 23, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan. She has two children: Jerry Dean (Sandy) Tuck and Carol Ann (Russell) Durfee. She has two living grandchildren: Michelle Joy (Bryon) Christilaw and Jason Arthur (Karen) Durfee. She has one great-granddaughter, Delaney Russhelle Christilaw who is 3 years old. She is survived by three sisters: Helen Darnell of Daytona, Florida, Ruby Powers of Lansing, Michigan, and Shirley Williamson of Albion, Michigan. She was proceeded in death by one brother, Hershel, her half-sister, Gladys, and one grandson, William Russell. Annie loved to crochet, read, and travel. She had a green-thumb and loved to garden. She also loved to bird-watch. She always had many bird feeders and enjoyed deciding what type of birds were visiting her home. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind and she loved to laugh. She enjoyed getting physically involved in her grandchildren's life's when they were young and later she let her great-granddaughter do just about anything. She loved to hear funny stories about "her Delaney" and she would share them with anyone who would listen. She literally would give someone the clothes off her back. No one would dare tell her that they liked one of her outfits or a pair of shoes because she would later give them to you. Later in life, she had a collection of pigs; stuffed, ceramic, and one that moved and snorted. She was a passionate Bible scholar. She worked diligently by her husband's side in pastoring churches, especially the Pentecostal church in Mt. Pleasant which they founded in 1965. She was baptized in Jesus Name on Father's Day 1947, while 6 months pregnant with Carol. She received the precious Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues later that same year. She served in Ladies Auxiliary of the United Pentecostal Church until health no longer allowed her to help. Along with her husband, they ran the U.P.c. campground concession stand for several years. Her one request to God was to live long enough to see her great-grandchild which God granted. Delaney, her great-granddaughter was the very joy of her existence and was the last thing she looked at before walking into His arms. Psalms 116: 15, "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Annie was a lady in the greatest sense of the word. She will be remembered as the lady who "gave" and the lady who "prayed" - Honey, Mom, Granny, "Gurney", you will live in our hearts and lives forever. 1930 Fulton Co, KY District 9, page 4B Notes for William Graham: I am an old-time preacher and I will not bend to that wicked one or the voices of bad men. I am an old-time preacher and I will not bow to the pleasures of the world and what men allow. I am an old-time preacher and I hate sin. I pray for the world for the condition it is in. I am an old-time preacher and I'm here to say if men don't change there's a judgement day. I am an old-time preacher I can see He's coming soon.
