My father was born in 1887 in Gardner, Tn. in the beautiful white two story house that sits on the corner of Gardner Rd. and the old highway to Union City. In those long ago days, Gardner was larger than Martin and much farther away from Martin. Civilization has married the 2 cities today. He died in 1954, way too soon to suit me, for he was such a special man. Although he left Weakley County, when he was about 21 years old, moving to Memphis, where he was a prominent business man, being a Realtor and land developer, he maintained many ties with Weakley until after his father, brother and sister died. After that, life caused my family to lose touch. Now I am learning more and more about life in Weakley, which makes me understand why my family did certain things. I have found everyone there so helpful, kind and generous. I will visit his grave today. I hope, today, all of you have wonderful memories or express your appreciation for your father in person. His name was Harry Milburn Hall, the son of Seward Henry Hall and Mary Emma Gardner. His brother was Fred and his sister was Grace Bell Hall Gibbs. Her husband, Frank, owned the drug store on Martin's main st, with the doctor's office above. After some time, my grandfather moved his family into Martin, where he had business enterprises. His house still stands on Oxford st. Just a small glimpse into my family. pj wrote: > Grace, would you like to share your daddy's name with us? pj > > >> My father was born in 1887 in Gardner, Tn. in the beautiful white two >> story house that sits on the corner of Gardner Rd. and the old >> highway to Union City.
