WEAKLEY COUNTY PRESS - August 21, 2007 Travis McCray Summers, 88, of McKenzie, formerly of Palmersville, died Thursday, August 16, 2007, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, with Elder Ed Long and Elder Robert Tidwell officiating. Burial was in Little Zion Cemetery in Palmersville. Robert Summers, Dan Summers, Kenneth Summers, Richard Summers, Joe David Lasw, and Nicky Todd served as pallbearers. Summers was born in Ore Springs, son of the late Ferry Lawson and Metter May High Summers. He was the widower of Annie Valda Steward Summers, a World War II U.S. Armay veteran, a retired farmer, and employee of Dico Corp. and a member of Little Zion Privitive Baptist Church. Survivors include three nieces, Sue Hopkins, and Gladys Laws, both of Dresden, and Dorothy McWherter of Martin; and four nephews, Robert Summers of Gleason, Dan Summers of Stanton, KY, Richard Summers of Dresden and Kenneth Summers of Sikeston, MO.
