Good Morning to all............ We had 3 drops of rain in "the north of Weakley" last night........don't get me wrong we will take 2 drops if that is all we are allowed.......we are so dry, crops are burning up in the field, not to mention yards, flowers, gardens, you name it............I never remember it being this dry in this area of the country........ I do hope everyone will get on the ban wagon, make a phone call, write letters.........do whatever you can to bring attention to our New Hope Church and Cemetery vandals ...these young people need more than a slap on the hand, they need to be held responsible for their act of vandalism....this is not the first time this has happened .........we need to make a point of this.........Please do help anyway you can........... I had to go to the dentist at Paris on Friday, so I stopped at the Library there..........that is always a treat...........you do know that they have the microfilm of death certificates for Tennessee?????? I spent my entire time looking at dc........brought home several with me...........they charge $1.00 per dc and that is to help pay for the cost of copy of the microfilm........I gladly pay it and make a donation on top of that........ I think they will even lookup them up, copy them and mail to you for that price but add a little extra for postage.......hey you can't beat that with a stick.........I am so proud they have them..........I hope we get them at Martin one of these days............ Speaking of death certificates........I was talking to Janice Crider the other day, she was telling me about the OBITS books that Weakley County Gen Society has published........that sure would be a good investment also if anyone was interested.......She told me that there were order forms on the Weakley Web Site........ http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Etnweakle/genealogical_society.htm and there is a printable order form at this site that also tells about all the books available for sale through the society........ She was also telling me about the new microfilm reader they have at the Weldon Library in Martin.........sounds wonderful.........I am going to have to make a trip to the Weldon Library in Martin very soon..........I would like to be active in the Weakley Co Gen Society one of these days......I do love Weakley County......... Ok, it's too hot to do anything outside...........so what do you suggest we do this afternoon.............how about some lookups............got any suggestions............I will do some today...........pj
