This was sent to me............I want it in the open to the public also............pj The New Hope Methodist Church in the Chestnut Glade Community has been being vandalized, over a period of time. The church, organized in 1831, was no longer active but remained a place of meditation and solitude for many persons. Due to this ongoing vandalism certain persons determined to do a "watch" and teenagers were witnessed damaging the church, including the breaking of the old church windows. All this was reported to the Sheriff's Office. Several persons were Arraigned on August 6 and this will be continued on Aug. 22 at the Weakley County Courthouse. (None of this was published in the court records of the newspaper, as normally happens.) Many are concerned that this will be glossed over DUE to the HIGH profile of some of the parents. (Conservative estimates of the damage are over $6,000.) It is hoped that justice will be served. We have all done stupid things but we usually have to pay the price, for being stupid. Pansy
