My Dohertys came from Ireland in 1846 & 1847 and landed in Manayunk PA for about ten years before moving to Minnesota. The parents were Hugh Doherty and Sarah Evans. All but 2 of the kids ended up in Minnesota. One daughter Ann/Nancy remained in Pennsylvania and Richard Doherty who lived in Weakley Co. If any of the Doherty variation researchers have found Richard in the 1860 census, please let me know. There is DORRITY, DOUGHERTY, etc. in PJs McCLAIN line (which is my McLAIN line that came to Lawrence Co AR before 1850) ... I can't with with much authority on your line, but PJ and Garry might be able to do so. Were yours ever in White or Warren Co TN? I found a ton of land records in Warren Co for George DORRITY, dating from early 1800s.
