    3. Leslie, I have Calvin Simpson Moore a Confederate Veteran that was a half brother to Robert E. Lee 'Rob' Moore with his first wife Matilda Kennedy. Also have this on the husband of Imogenie Hastings Moore the dau. of John Hugh Moore Co. A 12th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry; 12th Cavalry Regiment [also called 1st Kentucky and Tennessee Regiment] was organized and mustered into Confederate service at Verona, Mississippi, in September 1863. The unit was assigned to General Lyon's Brigade and sustained 55 casualties in the expedition from Memphis into Mississippi and 94 in the fight at Harrisburg. Later it saw action in Alabama and during March 1865, merged into the 8th Kentucky Infantry (Mounted) Regiment. It was commanded by Colonel W.W. Faulkner, Lieutenant Colonel W.D. Lannom, and Majors John M. Malone and Thomas S. Tate, Jr. Peter was member of United Confederate Veterans Camp, J.B. Ward Camp in Hickman His parents were Goodwin George (ca. 1785 Virginia-before 1860 Virginia) and Emily? George (ca. 1798 Virginia- before 1860 Virginia). Peter worked as a carpenter and laborer. Peter married Imogenie Hasintine Moore (2 April 1848, Henry County, TN.-5 December 1932, Hickman, Fulton County, Ky.) on 30 April 1867 in Fulton County, Ky. She was the daughter of John Huey Moore (25 Jan. 1809, North Carolina-27 Aug. 1867, Hickman, Fulton County, Ky.) and Eliza “Sheridan” Moore (16 Dec. 1815, Rockingham County Virginia-6 Aug. 1887, Hickman, Fulton County, Ky.) Peter and Ima had no children. Peter and Ima are both buried in the Hickman City Cemetery in section N. Imogenie's brother Euphriates Moore; Pvt. Co. F 46th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry, he was captured at Island # 10, when the 46th surrendered at Tiptonville, Tn. He was sent to the Union Prison, Camp Douglas in Chicago, IL. While a prisoner he died of chronic diarrhea "dysentery" on 13th of September 1862 and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in a common grave of about 6000. My ggrandfather Nathan Mitchell was also captured at Island 10 and was exchanged 7 months later. GGGF - Silas Reuben Moore Born 1809 who had a brother James Moore who would have been born in the early 1800's - I don't have the exact date. GGGGF -I have Silas's father as John "Flatty" or "Fatty" Moore though. GGGGGF - And all I have on John F Moore's father is a name passed down through several generations that sounds something like "Shazaren" Moore. Silas lived in Palmersville an Rob was born there too. In fact my grandfather, John Perry Moore was born in Weakley County too but it was closer to Martin. Then Rob took his family to Lake County to build houses in Ridgely.
