My Mother made wonderful dumplings, but mine never seem to be quite as good as hers! She made the same dough she made for biscuits, and added egg to it. She would make them the day before, and refrigerate the dough. She said it made a stiffer dough, and the dumplings always held together better when regrigerated. Every summer when my kids would go spend a couple of weeks with her and my Dad, my daughter would always ask her to make her chicken and dumplings sometime during the visit.
