Regarding the Vandalism of the church, it is imperative that something be done before next Wednesday. Since Deputy Plunk seems to be the one that is involved in lowering this to a misdemeanor the Weakley Co. Sheriff, Mike Wilson, should be informed of what has transpired. He may already be aware but this will put him on notice that it is well known what is going on. The District Attorney, Tommy Thomas and his assistant DA's also need to be made aware of the circumstances. If this is allowed to be settled on Wednesday as a misdemeanor that will probably have to be the end of it since further charges would be double jeopardy. The Cemetery Committee is now the owner of the church building and should voice their concerns and submit the $6000 estimates again. If the above people are not contacted this will probably take its natural course as a misdemeanor. There is not time to get newspaper publicity but a call could be made to the Martin Radio Station on the morning show where they take calls. All of the concerns of everyone interested will be for naught unless this is brought to light before Wednesday. Regardless there needs to be as many people as possible at the hearing. English philosopher Edmund Burke said, 'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.'
PJ, do you know the phone number where folks can call the radio station? What time is the radio show on? Even though I'm in Seattle, I'd sure give 'em a call.
