    3. While entering the obituary that Martha sent I found that I had him in my files with the name spelled McClain with an obituary from the County Times in Martin. I also discovered from this that he was a Confederate Veteran that I did not have on my list. Joe Stout William A McClain served the confederate army in County H, 36 Ala Inf CSA. In William's obituary 8 August 1941-County Times, Martin, Tennessee "Uncle Billy" McClain passes Away "W. A. (Uncle Billy) McClain, 94, died Friday, August 1, at his home on Broadway ..., He was one of the 34 Confederate soldiers in Tennessee and the last in Weakley County. Up until several weeks ago, he had been in good health. At the battle of Chickamaugh, "Uncle Billy" was seriously injured when a rifle ball struck him in the chest. However, after a few weeks in the hospital he rejoined his company and remained until t he end of the conflict.
