I apologize if I missed someone already saying this in a previous post but I wouldn't want anyone to miss going to these places if they are researching in the area. Paris, TN has a wonderful genealogy room at their Rhea Library. Lots of microfilm readers, lots of film, books and helpful assistants. There is also an Archives in Paris with literally tons of old original documents from the courthouse that they have sorted and are still sorting (last I heard) which can be copied at a nominal fee. And they have a Family History Center which has films of records and readers. They have recently added the films of TN death certificates and I think those are at the library but I'm not sure. The information they have at all these places is not limited to just Henry County and many of our ancestors passed through there even if they didn't stay, so it's worth a look. I can also recommend The Veranda Bed and Breakfast which is just a short walk from the library in Paris. It is purely a delight to stay there. Thank you so much for responding, Peggy. I really appreciate all your help. It sounds like a wonderful place to do research. Time permitting, we'll stop at both libraries.
