    3. In 1860, Silas M. KEMP is listed in District 9 with his wife, spelled Lodriska, and four sons: Gilbert, 12; William, 5; James, 3; and Josiah, 1. Also a boarder, John Parker, age 24. Gilbert was the son of Silas Kemp and Mary PATTERSON. Josiah was the son of Silas and Loduska. Can someone tell me who was the mother or mothers of William and James? Silas M. Kemp’s second wife was Nancy Ann BAKER. I have Nancy’s date of death as 1851. Is this correct or did she die as late as 1855? Silas and Loduska were married in 1857 and their wills indicate both William and James were Silas’ sons by a previous wife. William Kemp was William Francis Kemp who moved to Texas with Silas and Loduska and died in Johnson County, TX in 1915. James Kemp was James Monroe Kemp who married Catherine Frances Patterson, daughter of Mark Patterson, Jr., and Martha, before 1880. Where was James M. Kemp in 1870? From 1880 until their deaths, James and Catherine were listed in Weakley County.
