pj, I ordered the first roll of the death cert. That is 1908- 1912. We have ordered 79 new rolls in all for the Weldon Public Library mostly Dresden Enterprise and Weakley County Press, plus Chancey and Circuit Courts minutes. This is wonderful news..........keep us posted as to what you buy to put in the Library.......but I also have a request........can we get the genealogy department a little more user friendly? I have just been, this last week, in about 8 Libraries in Tennessee and Kentucky and even a couple archives in counties .......they were all great........could walk in, do your work, make your copies, pay for your copies and not have to go through the ordeal I did when I went to Weldon........what gives with that??????? Some of these libraries had folks that were there to help you if you needed help...........pj > pj, > I ordered the first roll of the death cert. That is 1908- 1912. I should not have even mentioned that..........some of these libraries, really little ones had hired help in the genealogy department it shocked me........... What I was saying we need help with is what you have to go through to get into the genealogy department, then no copier, etc..........oh well..........when you visit all these others and just walk in, go to work and make yourself at home............it spoils you for sure.......... I am very thankful you are ordering these films.........can't wait until you get all the death certificates...........they are truly a jewel to have..........I worked in Kentucky ones on Friday morning.............20 cents a copy...........can you believe that????????? I nearly fainted............. I had not told anyone but Ralph and I have been on vacation traveling around for me to do research............I am worn out...........I spent at least $100 on copies and maybe more..............now I got to go through them and decide what I got and didn't get..............pj > > pj, > Most library have volunteers to help in research. Janice, Just curious -- what years do the Chancery and Circuit Court minutes microfilms cover? I'll probably never have the opportunity to come to the library to look at them since I live in Canada, but I'm happy to know that the genealogy section of the library has more records. I'm sure this will benefit so many people in the area who are researching. Thanks.
