Have you searched Herring Highlights III? Jim Grimwood has a fantastic book on the Herring genealogy and it's many name spellings. They originated in Isle of Wight County, VA but eventually spread to NC and all points west. You can probably find this book in your library or on library loan. Dorothy C. Emily's parents were Isaac C. & Amanda McREE HERRON. They were in Weakley Co. and later went to Lake Co. Censuses show Isaac's bp as KY and both his parents as IND. If these names are familiar, I would appreciate any information you can share. Isaac is one of my brick walls! I can't remember the dates right now (brain isn't working too well at 2:30 a.m. Pacific DT), but I can post them later after I check my files.
