The Dresden Enterprise May 10, 1946 Beloved Lady Passes After Brief Illness Rites For Mrs. Bennie REAVIS Held Tuesday at Local Church of Christ Esteem In Which She Was Held Manifested By Large Number At Funeral The esteem in which Mrs. Bennie REAVIS, wife of E. T. REAVIS, was held in this community was manifested by the very large number attending her funeral at the Church of Christ and the wonderful array of floral offerings, each a silent testimony of Mrs. REAVIS' wide spread popularity. Mrs. REAVIS was stricken Friday, last week, followed by pneumonia, and passed away at the Martin hospital Monday afternoon. She and E. T. REAVIS were united in holy wedlock 50 years ago last January. Two children were born from this union, Loyd, who with his father, survives, and a daughter who died in infancy. She was the daughter of the late Tom LOYD, and sister of Mrs. H. F. CHANDLER, the latter being the last survivor of the LOYD family. Funeral services were held by her pastor, T. E. CHOATE, and the Rev. Miss Lettie CLEMENT in the presence of an exceptionally large concourse of relatives and friends. Interment was in Sunset cemetery, withBowlin and Riggs directing. Mrs. REAVIS was born and reared in Dresden. She was one of the city's most deservedly popular women. It has been publicly stated that she and Mr. REAVIS were Dresden's most devoted couple. She was, in truth, a dear, good woman and deeeply consecrated. The entire community joins us in sympathy for the bereaved. As a tribute of respect, all business houses closed for the funeral hour.
