This is none of my business, but Tennessee did indeed have an 1820 census. At the time, there were no Henry, Carroll, Weakley or Benton Counties. Henry was opened for settlement in 1821, which is about the same time as the other counties mentioned. Peggy M. T. In a message dated 5/21/2007 1:19:35 A.M. THE LAND ON WHICH THEY LIVED WAS DRAWN BY WILMA IN HER FATHER'S ESTATE. ON THE SAME DATE AS THE ABOVE LANDSALE, DANIEL PURCHASED LAND FROM REBECCA MARLOW, THE LAND LYING ON BOTHE SIDES OF SYCAMORE CREEK, PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA. DANIEL CLEMENTS PAID TAXES ON THESE 170 ACRES FROM 1811 TO 1818.ON 23 DEC 1813, DANIEL CLEMENTS IMPORTED SLAVES. THESE WERE IN ADDITION TO THOSE HE INHERITED FROM HIS FATHER. IN 1814, DANIEL WAS A PRIVATE IN THE 2ND CORPS d'ELITE, VIRGINIA MILITIA,WAR OF 1812. HE SERVED UNDER CAPT. TUNSTALL SHELTON'S COMPANY OFLIGHT INFANTRY. AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS FATHER ISAAC IN 1816,AND HIS INHERITANCE FROM THE ESTATE, DANIEL MADE HIS INVESTMENT IN LAND. FROM 1819 UNTIL 1822, A TWELFTH SURVEYORS DISTRICT LIST WHICH INCLUDED HENRY COUNTY, TENNESSEE ( NOW CARROLL, WEAKLEY AND BENTON COUNTIES) SHOWS THAT HE HELD DEEDS TO 2834 ACRES OF LAND. HENRY COUNTY , TENNESSEE DID NOT HAVE AN 1820 CENSUS. WE KNOW THAT DANIEL AND WILMA AND 5 CHILDREN WERE THERE IN 1821 ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNWEAKLE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
