I'd appreciate any help in determining the wife (or wives) of Pinkney GATEWOOD, b. 1841, Weakley Co., TN, son of Freeman GATEWOOD and Harriet NOBLIN. There is a marriage record online that lists Pinkney as having married C. J. HART Jan. 26, 1864 in Weakley Co., TN. Census for 1870 and 1880 Weakley shows his wife's name as Patience and Patience J. Does anyone know if he had two wives, C. J. and Patience J. or is it possible that the C. in the marriage record should have been P.? Thanks very much. Brenda (NOBLIN researcher)

Brenda, The book Weakley County Marriage Records Volume 2 1854-1865 by Laura Willis gives her name as P. J. Hart.
