I would appreciate very much a lookup for an obituary for either a GILBERT or J.P. PENTECOST in Weakley County. Also, I am trying to find out where he is buried. He should be buried somewhere in Weakley County since he lived there all his life. He was born circa 1869 and died circa 1892 in Weakley County. He was the first husband of my great grandmother, SARAH ELIZABETH JENKINS. They were married in Paragould, Greene County, AR, on October 6, 1887. Sarah Elizabeth was only 16 when they married, so am wondering if they eloped since they went all the way to Arkansas to marry. I have so many unanswered questions about these two. Carolyn Storie

Carolyn, Is the Sarah Elizabeth Jenkins that married Gilbert Pentecost the daughter of William Payton and Mary Jane Smith Jenkins? I looked at Lee Cates lookups on the Pentecost surname and do not see a Gilbert or J. P. listed in the cemetery books.
