Joe, Thank you for sending the address to your World Tree Connect. Yes, Richard did have two wives. The second one, Martha HIGGS is the one I am descended from and am trying to find information on. I see in you information you have Richard T. dying 1848 in NC, which could be true. He could have gone back for a visit or moved back there. His family and last three children were born in Tennessee. I have the same information for his ancestors, I would just like to find who the daughter is that was born between 1834 and 1840 and then who Matha HIGGS people were. I noticed a John HIGGS living in her household in the 1870 census, listed as a domestic servant. I'll keep digging. Thank you again for keeping open records and sharing.
