McCLURE, age 88, Confederate veteran and had of a large family, died this morning at the home of his son, D. O. McCLURE, on Irving Street. His wife and a son, Herman, presceeded him in death ten years ago. The survivors are four sons, D. O. McCLURE, Ed McCLURE, Whitlock; Will McCLURE, Paris; and Pink McCLURE of Cottage Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Betty KING, Paducah, Ky; Mrs. Annie COLLINS and Mrs. Grace KIBBONS, of this city, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He fought throughout the Civil War under General Nathan Bedford FORREST. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Chapel Hill at 11 o'clock. Rev. D. T. Spaulding conductin the services.
