Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Bowlin officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon. Jerry Spencer, Brian Tuttle, Mathew King, Mike Petty, Jeff Guy and David Petty served as pallbearers. Petty was born June 29, 1927 in Lake County. He was the widow of Mary Frances Petty. He was a bricklayer and metal dealer. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Thomas and JoAnn Petty of Sharon, Dennis and Donna Petty Jr. of Greenfield; two sisters, Barbara Clark of Michigan and Doris Johnson of Union City; three brothers, Jim Petty of McConnell, Lloyd Petty of Tunica, Miss. and R. C. Petty of Sharon; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Latta was born June 24, 1932 in Weakley County, daughter of the late John and Lottie Mae Adams McCard. She was the widow of James Franklin Latta and was a former employee in the manufacturing industry. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, Ky. with Bro. Jerry Franklin, Bro. Johnie Dalton, Bro. Mark Hollingsborth and Bro. David Gargus. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Fulton County, Ky. Rev. Gordon was born May 23, 1941 in Fulton County, Ky., son of Lela Pearl Clements Gordon of Palmersville and the late William Alfred Gordon. He was a member and the current minister of the Pleasant View General Baptist Church in Water Valley, Ky. and served in the ministry for the past 35 years. He retired as a school bus driver after 17 years of service for the Obion County School System in 2010, was a former member of the Army National Guard in Union City serving in the Engineer Unit. Survivors also include his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Mary Glidewell Gordon of South Fulton; four daughters, Sandra Owens of Fulton, Ky., Kathy Coggins of Cookeville, Patricia Hunter of Kenton and Lisa Powell of Mayfield, Ky.; one son, Jerry Gordon of Troy; three sisters, Virginia Cole and Pat Cook, both of Union City and Ann Hayden of Martin; two brothers, Roger Dale Gordon of Fulton and Bobby Gordon of Palmersville; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.
