    3. Posted: Friday, December 24, 2010 4:01 pm Harold Eugene Grizzle Harold Eugene Grizzle, 83, of Palmersville, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at his residence. No services were held. Grizzle was born in Carrollton, Ill., son of the late Calvin and Rosa Hyde Grizzle. He was the widower of Mrs. Jaunice Marilyn Challans Grizzle. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired truck driver for Laclede Steel Industry. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Moran of Brighton, Ill., Karen Moore and Christine Keehner, both of Alton, Ill.; five sons, Terry Grizzle of Brighton, Douglas Grizzle of Jerseyville, Ill., Dennis Grizzle of Mississippi, Bruce Grizzle of Alton and Freddie Grizzle of South Roxanna, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Grizzle and Walter Grizzle; one sister, Rosemary Chapman; and one granddaughter. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Greenfield with Dr. Roy Whaley and Rev. Tim Foster officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Greenfield with Williams Funeral Home of Greenfield in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Huffstetler was born Oct. 25, 1949 in Greenfield, daughter of Mrs. Rachel Baird Elam of Greenfield and the late Jack Elam. She was a teacher for the Weakley County School System for 34 years and attended First Presbyterian Church, Greenfield. Survivors also include husband, James Randy Huffstetler of Greenfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sherri Huffstetler of Greenfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Beets of McKenzie; one sister and brother-in-law, Ka and Danny Perry of Greenfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Dale Garrett of McKenzie; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Ray and Bonnie Elam of McKenzie, Dan and Mitzi Elam of Greenfield, Jim and Pat Elam of Sharon; and two grandchildren, Abby Huffstetler and Grant Huffstetler. Services were held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Sharon with Gardner Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sharon. Grandson and family members served as pallbearers. Landrum was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a former owner of the Sharon Food Locker and member of Sharon First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Gladys Cooper Landrum of Sharon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Wayne Fanning of Jackson, Joan and Jerry Howell of Martin; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jenny Landrum of Martin; one sister, Marie Croom of Sharon; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. James Biggs McWherter James Biggs McWherter, 83, of Dresden, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Hillview Community Living Center, Dresden. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Cemetery with Bobby Bennett officiating and Bowlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. McWherter was born Aug. 23, 1927 in Palmersville, son of the late Basil and Mary Ann Harris McWherter. He was the widower of Mrs. Esther McWherter. He was a veteran of the United State Army, a truck driver and a member of Southside Church of Christ, Dresden. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lutz of Union City; one brother, Harry McWherter of Byron, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
