pj - I hope this isn't too long to go through; if it is, could you work your magic, please? So... I logged on to Ancestry .com the other night, with the intention of canceling my subscription. To my surprise, Recent Activity led me to a Family Tree which takes my MORRIS line back at least 3 more generations, with many, many new related lines, including siblings of my g-g-g-grandfather, Spencer MORRIS. This guy provided me with the "MORRIS Geneology (sic) notes" that he received from his grandfather Lucian MORRIS, which ties the family back to England in the 1700's. Previously, we were stuck on Spencer's 1840 census entry. We suspected that Spencer had two wives, based on census records, but now we have names for them, although for the one that's my g-g-g-grandmother, it's just her last name (the owner of the tree is descended from Spencer and his second wife). Needless to say, I found a way I can afford to keep my Ancestry account. In case anyone out there may find a connection, here's the new (to us) information: Spencer MORRIS (1798 - 1868) m. (1) ???
