Gwen Bell Posted: Friday, September 3, 2010 3:27 pm Gwen Bell, 81, of Winnebago, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Services were held Thursday in Creekwood Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Loeppky officiating. Olson Funeral and Cremation Services of Rockford, Ill., was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bell was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Martin, daughter of the late William and Mildred Boyte. She married Donald R. Bell Feb. 15, 1947. He survives. She was a member of Creekwood Baptist Church. She is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Kris Bell of Rockford, Ill., and a daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Dale Truesdale of Janesville, Wisc.; grandchildren, Keith Bell, Brandi and Steven Koltun, Joshua Truesdale and Zach Truesdale; and great-grandchildren, Avery Koltun and Elin Koltun. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be established at Mayo Clinic. WCP 8.31.10 Angela Smith Yarbro Posted: Friday, September 3, 2010 2:17 pm WCP 9.2.10 Angela Smith Yarbro, 63, of Martin, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at her residence. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Martin with Dr. Mike Sams, Rev. Robert "Tony" Smith and Dr. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Kenton with Hornbeak Funeral Home of Fulton, Ky. in charge of the arrangements. She will lie in state at the church from noon until funeral time. Ms. Yarbro was born Oct. 17, 1946 in Weakley County, daughter of the late Carl Wilson and Vera Marie Spence Smith. She was a retired farmer and member of First Baptist Church, Martin. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James W. and Melani Yarbro of Martin, Jason C. and Dava Yarbro of Dukedom; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Jr. and Carolyn Smith of Blountville, Rev. Robert A. "Tony" and Jill Smith of Newbern; and four grandchildren, Addison Yarbro and Kate Yarbro, both of Martin, Heather Yarbro, Caleb Yarbro and Brittany Yarbro, all of Dukedom. Bradley Jones Wright Posted: Friday, September 3, 2010 2:15 pm WCP 9.2.10 Bradley "Brad" Jones Wright, 51, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at his residence. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Martin with Rev. Randy Cooper and Rev. Larry Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow service with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will at the church after 11 a.m. on Friday until three hours prior to the services. Jim Riley, David Tinkle, Bill Zarecor, Eli Buckley, Zac Buckley, Luke Buckley, Steven Workman, Randy Myer, Gary Daniels and Henry Geny will serve as pallbearers. Wright was born May 19, 1959 in Union City, son of Dessell T. and Relma Jones Wright of Martin. He was a graduate of Westview High School, worked for Lockheed-Martin as an aircraft mechanic and a member of First United Methodist Church. Pounds, 83, of Martin Healthcare Center, formerly of Water Valley, Ky. died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at the Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin. Services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Dukedom with Rev. Gayle Barnes and Rev. Gerald Barnes officiating. Burial was held at Good Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Pounds was born Feb. 19, 1927 in Ashland, Ky., daughter of the late Clay and Daisy Mary Davidson Sheffield. She preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles William "Billy" Pounds. She was an employee of the Volunteer Community Hospital for 18 years in the cafeteria department, and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Wingo, Ky. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Pounds of Houston, Dean and Carol Pounds of South Fulton; one brother, Ray Sheffield of Ashland; one sister-in-law, Wyonna Pruitt Brown of South Fulton; four grandchildren, Kenneth W. Pounds, Tracy Pounds and Shelly Pounds, all of Houston, and Brandi Shempert of South Fulton; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel J. Pounds, Gavin Pounds, Kailey Shempert and Miranda Pounds.
