    1. [TNWEAKLE] Microfilms in the West Tennessee Heritage Study Center??
    2. Lindsay Price
    3. I'm having some difficulty seeing how to access items in the microfilm collection in the WTHSC. There are several films I'd like to look at, but I'm out of state. I'm hoping that these films are also held in the FHL in Salt Lake, but I'm not sure how to find them on familysearch.org (since they don't seem to appear under a title search and the film number listed is unique to the WTHSC). In the alternative, are they also held in the State Library and Archives? Sorry if this question is pretty basic...still getting my bearings for Tennessee research. Thanks in advance! -Lindsay

    3. Let me answer for the benefit of everyone. It depends on what film from the WTHSC you want to see. We have film from all over, including commercial vendors. The film in the room we don't loan but most is available from places that do. If you are looking for public records, then yes, either the FHC libraries near you or a public library from TSLA should be able to order the film as an interlibrary loan (ILL). If you want the Sanborn maps, folks just have to use those here. They are better than a thousand bucks a roll and nigh irreplaceable, although the Library of Congress will loan film as a last resort. Newspaper film is available through ILL from TSLA. If you'll contact me off-list, Lindsay, I'll help you figure out how to get it. Also, we've finally added a printer to the room, so it is equipped with an analog (projection) film reader/printer, a microfilm scanner, and a printer. There simply is no space for a photocopier, nor do I have a budget large enough to support one of those. We do, however, make copies for folks. Richard.
