    1. [TNWEAKLE] Question Re: KY Death Records on Ancestry.com
    2. CHERYL HORNE
    3. I found a death record in Marshall Co., KY 1874 on the above site....I want to learn who the informant was for this deceased family member? How do I do this? Where did ancestry.com get those records in the first place? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks In Advance, Cheryl

    3. Thanks, Richard. I do have a link to FamilySearch Wiki on my Weakley home page. Ancestry is good about correcting errors if you send in corrected data but have found their transcribers do make a lot of errors, which is why I appreciate seeing the original document - like census or marriage record - to verify. 3. Remember that FamilySearch does much of the same as the for-profit Ancestry site, and doesn't cost you a thing. In fact, the Ancestry records are being checked and reindexed in FamilySearch to correct transcription errors. Plus, you can do foreign genealogy there as well if your lines go that far back. Amazing what can be done with just a million volunteers (like MaryCarol). Richard.
