Just another word on the Green Tomato Relish, or ChowChow, as my mother called it. Every year my mother prepared and canned ChowChow. It was soooo good with brown beans and cornbread, fried okra and fresh sliced tomatoes. Alas, her recipe has been lost and I really missed that great ChowChow. However I found an off-the-shelf chowchow that is very, very good. "Renfro's DIXIELAND ChowChow". It tastes almost like what mom made, and takes sooooo much less work. If it is available in your area grocery stores, it will be well worth your money to give it a try, and much less work. It comes in regular and hot. If it's not available in your area, you can probably order it from the address below. Renfro's DIXIELAND Chowchow P. O. Box 321 Ft. Worth, TX, 76101 Tom Johnson, Oklahoma City
PJ, way back in April you told how to make GTR and you said salt, but not how much. Sorry, I let these digests stack up until I have time to read and just ran across it this morning. I have a busted thumb with a cast on my right hand and keyboarding is very difficult for me. Don't mean to be so abrupt. love joan ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Barbara, Thanks so much for this Reavis info! I'm on several county and surname lists, and I have to say the Weakley one is the BEST I've seen! Besides it's being a very active list, there are so many wonderful, helpful subscribers. Thanks to all of you, Jewel ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

In a message dated 5/14/2007 12:38:32 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, msmith@springnet1.com writes: I didn't fine anything for Beulah L. in 1922 and I need at least a month and year to look for others. Believe this is Beulah/Bulah L. Peery (bca1895 Tn), who married William (Willie) Lavern Reavis; she died 1922 and is buried in the West Union Cemetery. He died 1980 in Michigan. Their children were; Willie Don, Leugene, and Annelle, who was born in November, 1922 and apparently her mother died probably in or aft childbirth. Find W. Found 2 obituaries for her in the Jonesboro, Ark. newspaper, so have just sent request and check..hopefully will know more in a few weeks. Just hope has names of her parents! Have not found she and Cullen in the 1910 census..so looks like they must have moved to Arkansas. Not found them yet in either Tn or Ark. I enjoyed seeing the picture of this house, and reading the history you wrote up about it and it's past owners. I wish there were more of these for us to enjoy. I live so far from Weakley Co., and Greenfield, where my ancestors and grandmother lived. I want to come there, but may never get the chance. Seeing these pictures, means alot, next best thing to a real live visit. I sure wish someone would consider doing a "photographic guided tour with text" and posting it to Mary Carroll's Weakley Co. web site, so those of us that can never come to visit, can see the sights our family saw everyday, through the eyes of your camera lens.
