    1. [TNWEAKLE] Your SURNAMES - please help me
    2. MaryCarol
    3. Dear List Members, The heart of the Weakley County Website to me is the SURNAMES section. Here you can contact other people researching your Surname. Many "cousins" find each other. I found my first CAMPBELL cousin, Loretta, on the Surname pages back in 1999, followed by cousin Nancy B. and my first PRICE cousin, Jan too. over the years cousins have found me from the SURNAME pages - more than I ever thought possible. Today, I can't imagine life without them! People find it frustrating when they try to email a researcher but find the email addy is no longer good. How many cousin connections have been missed? Many of the email addresses for researchers on the SURNAME webpages are no longer valid. It has been my policy to leave incorrect email addys on the webpages in hopes that the researcher will come back some time and see their email needs updating and contact me. However, many of the email addys go back to year 2000 or before. So we need to do some updating. Over the next few months you can send in your correct email addys WITH LIST OF YOUR SURNAMES in email to me and I will make corrections. If your email addy on the Surnames pages is correct, no need to do anything. Starting in November, I will test emails - and remove any that do not work. I need your help by sending me a list of your surnames (A-Z would be most helpful) with corrected email address. PLEASE CHECK THE SURNAME WEBPAGES under ONLINE RESEARCH SECTION - if yours is correct, do nothing - if yours is not correct, send in. Thanks, MaryCarol http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnweakle/

    3. Brenda, I believe that Pinkney Gatewood married C. J. "Patience" Hart on 26 Jan 1864 as you noted. It would appear that his wife was called-or nicknamed- "Patience". They had 7 children through 1880 (Census'). In the 1870 Census, they named one daughter Harriett and one was named Jane. There is a Jane in the 1850 Census as a child of Robert R. Hart who is about the right age and with a sister named Hariet. Coincidence--maybe!! 3. I have Pinkney "Pink" Gatewood married to Patience Jane Hart on Jan. 26, 1864 in Weakley County. He was a Union Veteran of the Civil War. Gatewood, Pinkney; Union; Cavalry; 6th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry 1910 Weakley Co, TN, District 6 lists him as a Union Veteran. I received this information from Ann Westbrook by gedcom a few years ago. Looking at the 1850 Weakley Census it appears that Patience Jane was the daughter of R. R. and Judith Hart. She is shown on the 1860 census as Posia. District 6 - Aug 22, 1860 Household - 2215 Hart, R.R./42/Farmer/600/300/VA Hart, Judith/27/VA Hart, Posia/13/TN Hart, Harriet/11/TN Hart, John/8/TN Joe Stout -----Original Message----- From: tnweakle-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tnweakle-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of B Gartside Sent: Tuesday, July 31, 2007 2:53 PM To: tnweakle@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNWEAKLE] GATEWOOD I'd appreciate any help in determining the wife (or wives) of Pinkney GATEWOOD, b. 1841, Weakley Co., TN, son of Freeman GATEWOOD and Harriet NOBLIN.
